Options & careers
Options are made in year 9 and year 11
In the Spring term, the school has a focus fortnight for both year 9 and year 11. During this time all teachers offer support and guidance on the courses available in their subject area. There is a Year 9 Progress evening and Year 11 pupils and their parents / carers are invited to a sixth form induction evening. Pupils are issued with an Options Booklet/Sixth Form Prospectus and indicate their choices by completing an Options Form at the end of the fortnight.
The dates for the Options fortnight, Progress evenings and any other events to support pupils’ Option Choices are published on the school calendar.
Information about the subjects on offer at Porthcawl can be found in the Curriculum section of this website.
